BHSI Launches Program Business in Canada Led by Tran
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has entered the programs market in Canada, naming David Tran as head of Programs, Canada.
Tran brings more than two decades of experience in underwriting and strategic relationship management to his new role. He was most recently vice president, National Strategic Relationships at another insurer.
In Tran’s new capacity as head of Programs for BHSI Canada, he will be responsible for launching and leading program strategies which includes a new national platform that delivers insurance solutions through strategic partnerships with program administrators, MGA’s and broker partners. Aspen Promotes Cushway as Head of Int’l and UK Casualty Insurance, in New Role
Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd., the Bermuda-based re/insurer, announced that Ryan Cushway has been appointed to the newly created role of head of International and U.K. Casualty Insurance, effective August 1, 2025.
Cushway joined Aspen in 2017, where he has held several senior underwriting roles, demonstrating Aspen’s focus on developing talent and positioning the company’s teams for future success. Since January 2023, Cushway has been leading the U.K. casualty portfolio.
This new role consolidates leadership across Aspen’s U.K. entities and streamlines the company’s approach to casualty insurance, reaffirming the foundation for continued growth and innovation. As part of this transition, Leanne Bellows will assume the role of head of Excess Casualty – London & Lloyd’s Markets, reporting to Cushway. In addition, Richard Spinks and the International Environmental team will now report into Cushway under this restructured leadership model, alongside the U.K. casualty team.
