Ohio Agent’s License Revoked

August 13, 2001

Ohio Department of Insurance Director Lee Covington signed an order revoking the insurance license of Albert J. Henry of Milford (Clermont County), effective immediately.

According to the Consent Order, Henry will immediately cease from engaging in the insurance industry and will not engage in any activities that require an insurance license in Ohio.

The Department alleged that beginning in November 1997, Henry collected $6,016 in premium payments from an individual, but failed to obtain insurance coverage or return the premium payments. The Department also alleged that from September 1996 through October 1997, Henry collected premium payments from a second person totaling $5,933, but did not obtain insurance coverage. Henry subsequently returned the premium payments to the second individual.

The fraud and enforcement units of the Department of Insurance have received 672 referrals alleging insurance fraud totaling $3,074,535 since January 2001. Those referrals have resulted in 230 investigations, 99 cases referred for administrative action, and 85 criminal referrals to county prosecutors.
