Michigan-based Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company received the 2001 Outstanding Carrier Award, presented by the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission (AWCC). Amerisure has received this award four times in the last six years. T
he award was presented at the AWCC-sponsored convention of the Southern Association of Workers’ Compensation Administrators (SAWCA), held last month in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the Peabody Hotel and the State House Convention Center.
The Outstanding Carrier Award represents Amerisure’s claims handling of workers’ compensation business in the state of Arkansas for the year 2001. Each year, the AWCC monitors companies handling workers’ compensation claims, grading each company on the number of cases processed and the timeliness in reporting injuries and paying injured employees.
The award was announced at the conclusion of the five-day SAWCA convention, held annually to address medical, legal, insurance, and employer/employee issues related to workers’ compensation.
