American Physicians Capital Inc., based in East Lansing, Mich., announced that Thomas D. Chase will become the corporation’s new chief information officer.
Chase will head all information technology and systems development for APCapital, a national provider of medical liability and workers’ compensation coverage, including American Physicians Assurance Corp. and the company’s other subsidiaries.
Chase joined APCapital in August 2002 as CIO and vice president of business technology for workers’ compensation operations. Before joining the company, he was chief technology officer and vice president of business transformation for USI Insurance Services Corp.
Since 1990, Chase has held various IT-related management positions with several other national insurance carriers, including Aetna Health Plans, Cigna, Orion Capital Cos. and Royal & SunAlliance.
