Chicago-based Acordia Inc. announced that Dennis M. Donahue accepted the position of vice president, Benefits Practice leader for the company. Donahue will be responsible for assisting Acordia brokers with benefits solutions for their customers as well as identifying new revenue opportunities for the company and working with field personnel to implement new initiatives.
Most recently, Donahue spent 11 years working for Marsh Inc. (formerly J&H Marsh & McLennan). In his role there, he was the Chicago Employee Benefits Practice leader for nine years. He was also the winner of the Marsh Excellence Award in 2001 as Best Employee Benefits Practice of that year. More recently, as senior VP, National Practice Leader, Business Development, Donahue was responsible for marketing initiatives, professional standards, compliance and education and training for Marsh’s Benefit professionals.
Prior to joining Marsh, Donahue worked for Sedgwick James where he served as assistant VP. In this capacity, he initiated numerous successful cross-selling projects with the property and casualty departments. He also took part in expanding his accident and health special risk portfolio and exceeded his 1991 sales objectives by more than 22 percent.
