The Ohio Medical Malpractice Commission will hold a special meeting Friday, March 5, to finalize its interim report to the Ohio General Assembly.
The commission is required to submit a final report of its findings to the General Assembly on or before April 11, 2005. However, because of what it called “the increasingly urgent nature” of the issue, the commission decided to issue an interim report to detail its progress. The commission is chaired by Insurance Director Ann Womer Benjamin.
The commission was established to help “provide available, affordable, and stable medical liability coverage for the Ohio medical community while providing for patient safety and redress for those who are negligently harmed.”
