Michigan’s Office of Financial and Insurance Services issued the 2005 Buyers’ Guide to Auto Insurance. The guide contains information and tips about purchasing auto insurance as well as the results of a survey designed to provide consumers with information about rates charged by auto insurers in various areas throughout the state.
Another resource for consumers is the interactive version of the buyers’ guide, which can be found on the OFIS Web site. It allows users to choose a profile that most closely fits their situation and location to get a general idea of rates for auto insurance. The user can review sample rates for a select list of companies or review rates for all auto insurance companies in Michigan.
Hard copies of the guide also are available by contacting OFIS at (877) 999-6442.
