J.J.. Morrow, Jr., formerly the managing director of St. Paul Travelers Insurance Co. in Chicago has joined Swett & Crawford’s Chicago office as a property broker, according to company statement.
Since 1997, Morrow managed nearly $90 million in premiums for St. Paul Travelers, overseeing the effort of six underwriters and their assistants while continuing to oversee his own book of 50 policies with $25 million in premiums.
The company said that Morrow began his career at American International Group in Chicago as a property underwriter in 1993 and in 1996 joined Chubb & Son, Inc as a senior underwriter to manage a book of business consisting of property, ocean marine, inland marine and boiler and machinery coverage.
Bob Greenebaum, Swett & Crawford executive vice president and branch manager of the Chicago office, said, “We are delighted that J.J. is joining our team. His in-depth underwriting experience and his knowledge of a broad range of risks here in the Midwest will help us to deliver even greater expertise to our clients.”
Swett & Crawford, headquartered in Atlanta, Ga. identifies itself as the nation’s oldest independent wholesale insurance broker. It is owned by Swett & Crawford employees, the private equity firm, HM Capital Partners, Banc of America Capital Investors and Emerald Capital.
