Let\’s see if I get this. To punish the large brokers for acting unethically insuring large commercial accounts, profit sharing is no longer permissible for the smaller agent on the personal auto and homeowners line. Most of my business is in personal lines with Travelers. Without contingent (profit sharing) commission, I\’m in the red! Who in the world at Travelers Insurance agreed to a settlement harmful to their personal lines agencies?

Many regional personal lines carriers pay the same base commission as Travelers and have contingent commission (profit sharing)plans equal Travelers. These companies were not affected by the large commercial brokers and hence will continue present contracts. Suggest you contact them and switch the Travelers business. In fact you probably will receive help in switching and additional bonuses.
