Ohio State Auto Joins Agents’ Branding Program

January 11, 2007

The State Auto Insurance Companies are among the first group of carriers to join the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents’ branding program, “Local Agents Serving Main Street America SM.” Based in Columbus, Ohio, State Auto sells personal and business insurance through nearly 3,000 independent agencies in 28 states.

The PIA’s “Local Agents Serving Main Street America SM,” is an advertising and promotional campaign available at no additional cost to all PIA member agencies throughout the nation. The program reinforces the position of PIA members in their local insurance marketplace as local agents who offer personal support and service, as well as a choice of companies’ policies, to better fit their customers’ needs.

“Throughout our 85-year history, State Auto has remained committed to the independent agency system because of the clear value independent agents offer policyholders,” said Robert P. Restrepo Jr., State Auto chairman, president and CEO. “Outstanding personal support and service plus a wide variety of insurance products can only benefit the consumer. We are proud to join PIA and our member agents in promoting those benefits through Local Agents Serving Main Street America SM.”

PIA is a national trade association that represents member insurance agents and their employees who sell and service all kinds of insurance, but specialize in coverage of automobiles, homes and businesses.

The State Auto Insurance Cos., headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, primarily writes personal and business insurance products.
