Markel Corp. has appointed Glen Mangold as managing director for its architects and engineers, agents and brokers, and lawyers product lines. He will be based in Deerfield, Ill., and will report to Gerry Albanese
Mangold has more than 23 years of insurance experience, and most recently he was the assistant vice president and underwriting officer for architects, engineers, construction and miscellaneous liability for CNA Insurance in Chicago. In that role, he was responsible for a professional liability revenue book across a diverse cross-section of architects, engineers, contractors and miscellaneous consultants.
His experience also includes management positions at Atlantic Mutual, Zurich Insurance, and Safeco Insurance. Mangold is an associate member of PLUS and earned his CPCU designation in 1989.
