Ohio Lieutenant Governor and Department of Insurance Director Mary Taylor named Jillian Froment the department’s chief administrative officer. Froment is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department’s fiscal, human resources, information technology, communications and consumer affairs divisions.
Froment most recently served as the city administrator for Marysville, Ohio. There, Froment was responsible for the management of all municipal services and more than 150 employees. Prior to that, she was the executive director for eTech Ohio Commission, the assistant deputy director and general counsel in the Office of Collective Bargaining, and a compliance officer for the Ohio Department of Youth Services.
John Charlton has been named communications director for the department. In his new role, Charlton oversees communication strategy and planning, and coordinates communication activities. Charlton is tasked to maintain relationships with various stakeholder groups including media and advertising organizations. He also guides the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP).
Charlton previously worked at the Department of Insurance as a public information officer from 2000 to 2002 before taking the director of Public Relations position at Zane State College in Zanesville. He most recently worked at AVC Communications in Cambridge.
