State Auto Financial Corp., based in Columbus, Ohio, has elected Timothy (Tim) G. Reik a vice president following his appointment as director of Risk Evaluation and Design (RED) Operations.
Reik was also elected vice president at State Automobile Mutual Insurance Co. and State Auto Property & Casualty Insurance Co.
RED, which is State Auto’s affiliate in the alternative risk transfer and program business, is an important part of State Auto’s strategy to diversify into the specialty insurance market.
Reik joined State Auto in 2000 as a territory manager for the state of Indiana. He later joined the program management office as assistant vice president of personal lines marketing, and was eventually named assistant vice president of sales and marketing.
Prior to joining State Auto, Reik held positions in underwriting, marketing, product management, pricing and project management with Shelby Insurance, Milwaukee Insurance and Kemper Insurance.
Reik holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations.
