The Joplin Globe reports that people without insurance to hire contractors may sign up for volunteer assistance if they can’t do the work themselves.
The request applies to slabs, basements, crawl spaces, footings, driveways and any other structures that will not be reused.
The city will clear the lots of those who do not do meet the deadline or don’t notify the city of their intent to rebuild the structures. The cost of the work will be charged to the property owner.
