A motorist was injured by a pumpkin that crashed through her windshield after it fell from or was dropped off an overpass north of Cedar Rapids.
Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports that the incident occurred on Interstate 380 a little before 9:45 p.m. on Oct. 8.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Cassandra Chase, of Cedar Rapids, was injured but was expected to survive. She was driving south when the pumpkin struck her windshield as she passed under the Hagerman Road overpass.
The incident remains under investigation.
