The Missouri Department of Insurance announced that Julie Lederer has joined the department as the appointed Missouri property/casualty actuary.
Lederer will support the Divisions of Insurance Company Regulation and Insurance Market Regulation. The Notre Dame graduate previously served as a property/casualty actuarial consultant for Deloitte Consulting LLP in Chicago.
Lederer will review and analyze actuarial issues as they relate to the regulation, supervision, financial examination and analysis of property and casualty insurance companies. She will oversee the actuarial phases of risk-based financial examinations, rendering actuarial guidance to the department team, reviewing policy forms and rate filings, assisting in the evaluation of reinsurance treaties, and evaluating and developing legislation, regulations and departmental standards on issues requiring actuarial expertise.
She is an associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
