Critchell-Miller & Petrus in Illinois has joined Keystone Insurers Group as a franchise partner. Keystone now has 15 agency partners in the state.
Established by R.S. Critchell in 1868 and operating as R.S. Critchell & Co., Critchell- Miller & Petrus has over a century of experience, making them one of the oldest, continuously active, independently owned insurance organizations in the nation. The agency issued the first draft paying for property destroyed in the Great Chicago fire of 1871. In the early 1900s, it was one of the largest insurance brokerage agencies in the world.
The agency merged with Alex J Petrus & Associates in 1999 to form Critchell-Miller & Petrus Inc. Today the agency is under the management of three partners: President Dallas L. Peters; Mark T. Petrus, Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC); and Michael J. Petrus Sr., CIC.
