New data shows the number of workplace deaths is declining in Wisconsin.
Ninety-six people died in work-related incidents in 2013, that’s down from 114 deaths the year before.
A sharp drop in violent occupational deaths is highlighted in the data gathered by the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene. There were 27 violent, work-related deaths in 2012, including 16 homicides. Last year, that number dropped to 11.
The Journal Sentinel reported the greatest number of occupational facilities occurred in transportation last year. Twenty-three other deaths were attributed to falling, slipping or tripping.
