Classic vehicle insurer, Traverse City, Mich.-based Hagerty, hired Richard Hutchinson as the company’s president, effective Jan. 5, 2015.
Hutchinson joins Hagerty from the Progressive Corp., where he has held many leadership positions during his 29-year tenure there. His insurance acumen includes product design, pricing and underwriting, commercial and personal lines (auto and home), and user-based insurance.
Hagerty, founded 30 years ago, started as a small family business which pioneered specific coverage for classic wooden boats. Today, Hagerty offers specialty products and services for collector vehicles.
