Steve Cotnoir has been appointed vice president – large casualty at St. Louis, Mo.-based Safety National Casualty Corp.
In his new role, Cotnoir will be responsible for leading large casualty field underwriting operations for several strategic regional office territories, including those handled out of the Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas regional offices.

Cotnoir joined Safety National in 2010, in conjunction with the opening of Safety National’s newly-established Atlanta regional office. Since joining the company, Cotnoir has heightened awareness of Safety National’s large casualty capabilities within the risk management community. In addition to maintaining his long-term broker and risk manager relationships, Cotnoir will also now be leading a team of large casualty underwriters tasked with establishing a broader presence across the country.
Prior to joining Safety National, Cotnoir held a number of increasingly-responsible underwriting and senior level management roles with several prominent national carriers.
Founded in 1942, Safety National provides a broad range of risk funding products through insurance agents and brokers. A member of the Tokio Marine Group, the company is a leading provider of excess workers’ compensation coverage to self-insured employers and groups nationwide.
