Rolling Meadows, Illinois-based insurance wholesaler, managing general agent (MGA) and specialty insurance distributor, Risk Placement Services Inc. (RPS), has expanded its Transportation business unit with the creation of a new Transportation team for the North Central states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.
RPS hired Mark Gallagher to lead the new dedicated regional Transportation team. Gallagher is an experienced insurance professional, with over two decades of experience specializing in transportation. He previously served as the vice president of underwriting for Truckers Insurance Associates. Gallagher will operate out of the company’s Des Moines, Iowa, office.
In addition, RPS has hired industry veteran Lou Welch, who has more than 35 years of specialty experience in transportation insurance on both the company and wholesale agency sides. Welch will operate out of the company’s Bloomington, Minnesota, office.
Risk Placement Services Inc. (RPS) is one of the nation’s largest specialty insurance products distributors, offering products and services in wholesale brokerage, binding authority, programs, standard lines, and specialized auto through its Pronto Insurance brand. RPS has more than 80 offices nationwide.
