World Insurance Associates announced it acquired the business of Dunaway Insurance Agency of New Palestine, Indiana and Hoosier Insurance Agency of Bloomfield, Indiana on June 1, 2025. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Dunaway was founded in 1979 and was sold to Doug Todd in 1994. Today Dunaway is led by Doug and Tina Todd. Doug works with commercial, agricultural and commercial affiliated personal lines accounts, and Tina works and manages the personal lines side of the business. Hoosier was founded in 1990 by Doug’s father, and in 2005 Doug purchased the agency, which today is primarily focused on personal lines insurance.
Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla provided legal counsel and Fortrust Diligence advised World on the transaction. Schwell Wimpfheimer & Associates provided legal counsel and Helfer & Associates LLC advised Dunaway and Hoosier on the transaction. No other advisors, diligence firms, or legal counsel were disclosed.
