Acrisure co-founder CEO Greg Williams is giving back to his alma mater in a major way.
Michigan State University announced Williams and his wife are committing $401 million to the university, with most of the donation going towards the school’s athletic department. MSU called the donation the largest single commitment in the history of the university, and one of the largest single amounts in college athletics history.
Beyond supporting athletics,, $11 million of the gift will be directed toward academic and extracurricular initiatives, including the MSU Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Risk Management and Financial Insurance Program in the Eli Broad College of Business, the school said.
“MSU is not only the face of our community, but the health and well-being of East Lansing depend on a thriving and successful MSU. In this regard, we’re proud and blessed to be in a position to support MSU’s leadership and its ambitious vision for the future,” said Greg and Dawn Williams.
Greg Williams co-founded Grand Rapids-based Acrisure in 2005. The insurance broker has undergone rapid growth over the last two decades through an aggressive acquisition strategy.
Acrisure is ranked No. 3 in the 2025 Top 100 Property/Casualty Agencies with P/C revenue of $2.83 billion last year.
