The Hartford has developed new resources to help independent agents find the latest automation solutions to their business challenges. As part of its strategy, The Hartford placed 17 business technology solution managers (BTSM) in regional offices and service centers throughout the United States.
The company hopes that this will help agents grow their business through the increased use of high-tech solutions such as The Hartford’s Electronic Business Center (EBC) and InterComm On the Net (ICON). The Hartford’s EBC gives producers immediate online access to a variety of commercial and personal lines resources including forms, client-billing statements, sales and marketing brochures and loss control information.
In addition, the EBC is now offering agents online access to their policies, claims information and production reports. The BTSMs will help agents prepare for new business opportunities through the Internet, according to Joe Gauches, senior vice president, eBusiness at The Hartford.
In addition to showing agents how to use technology to reduce costs, BTSMs are demonstrating ways The Hartford’s technology can help agents write new business without devoting additional resources to sales and service.
