SCPIE Holdings Inc., one of the nation’s leading providers of healthcare liability insurance, announced that its operations have not been affected by the tragic attack on the World Trade Center. Although the company’s reinsurance operations were headquartered in the North Tower, none of the employees were injured in the attack. Back-up systems for this office had long been established in the company’s home office in Los Angeles. Business in the home office continues to be conducted as usual, and the company expects to have a new reinsurance office open in New Jersey within the next few days.
“While we decry the tragedy wrought on our nation and the loss of life, we are grateful for the safety of our valued employees,” stated SCPIE President Donald J. Zuk. “We extend our condolences to the families of all the victims and applaud those who are working tirelessly to rescue and support the survivors.”
