ASCNET’s 16th Annual Education Conference Slated for Orlando Oct. 24-27

October 1, 2001

The Applied Systems Client Network (ASCnet), the user group for Applied Systems agency technology, will hold its 16th Annual Education Conference, designed for principals, owners and system managers, on Oct. 24-27 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando.

With the theme of “2001: An Automation Odyssey,” hundreds of independent agent attendees will evaluate two topics critical to every small business: management and technology. Educational sessions will cover customer relationship management, Internet sales and service, making wise investments in technology, hiring new talent, improving agency workflow, and technology leadership.

Dozens of workshops are planned. To confront the difficulty of identifying talent, a session dedicated to behavioral interviewing will outline how to identify successful talent by asking the right questions. Another session, “Five Habits of Highly Effective Leaders,” will share the results of a study of some top industry leaders and the common characteristics they share that led them to success.

“Utilizing the Internet” will help insurance professionals more effectively use the Internet to increase sales and service levels to current and prospective clients. Another session, “Using the Internet as a Marketing Tool,” will explain how agency managers can use the Internet database search capabilities with marketing systems to target market and expand accounts. And for professionals wondering how technology will change the way they work and run their businesses in the years to come, the “Future of Technology” will outline coming technologies.

To combat the fear many have of transitioning to new technology, and to increase knowledge on how to utilize the industry’s upcoming technologies, ASCnet will provide an Applied Systems Demo Area. The demo area will feature hands-on displays for participants to gain valuable knowledge about new advancements. Additionally, many well-known retailers will share their products and services in the ASCnet Trade Fair.
