ACORD, the global, nonprofit standards-setting organization for the insurance and related financial service industries, named Brenda Ayler-White of Royal & SunAlliance USA as chairperson of its Property & Casualty Insurance Steering Committee. Ayler-White is E-Relations Director for Royal & SunAlliance’s Corporate Marketing Group.
As committee chairperson, Ayler-White will play a key role in developing property and casualty (P&C) insurance standards. She will also serve on the association’s Global Standards Committee.
Ayler-White has been very involved with the ACORD P&C Committee over the past year in developing a unified, consistent approach to the use of XML (Extensible Markup Language) for the insurance industry.
“This appointment represents a significant acknowledgement of the work and influence Brenda has had with ACORD,” said Bob Jones, Vice President, Corporate Marketing at Royal & SunAlliance. “Her ability to champion our business and industry interests with the application of technology is critical to the long-term success of these key initiatives. Moreover, by serving as chairperson of the Steering Committee, Brenda helps position Royal & SunAlliance as an industry leader in the development and implementation of global standards.”
Ayler-White has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. She joined Royal & SunAlliance in 1983 as commercial insurance service supervisor in the company’s Manhattan Branch.
