October 16, 2003

Advisen, Ltd., a provider of information, analytics and benchmarking for the commercial insurance industry, recently introduced Version 2.0 of its information platform for insurance professionals.

The New York-based company, which currently serves over 65 leading insurers, insurance brokers and risk management organizations, also said it had expanded its sales, marketing and customer service organizations to service its growing market opportunity.

“Giving insurance professionals access to information and tools on a daily basis is an effective strategy to substantially affect underwriter pricing decisions, broker-client relations and risk management and buying strategies,” said Tom Ruggieri, CEO of Advisen.

The new Advisen Version 2.0 adds a series of additional features. Advisen has expanded its insurance program benchmarking by introducing real-time data and new analytic functions. The new version also includes the deepest information-set on 53 vertical industries typically serviced by commercial insurers and brokers. Advisen 2.0 enhancements further include the expansion of financial data for public companies in 107 different countries. Users now have the option of viewing financial data in local reporting currency or converting the data in real-time into any major money center currency.

Advisen is also introducing a new graphic-user interface for the site to make it easier to navigate.

Glenn Weber, an Advisen principal, said “Advisen 2.0 offers major improvements to the user interface, making the entire platform easier to navigate. The new features include a revised Main Menu that offers access to critical research and analysis tools, documentation resources and topically organized news.”

The Advisen platform is designed for professionals across the commercial insurance industry.

Advisen (www.advisen.com) provides insurance underwriters with a single, customizable information platform for assessing risk exposure, which can be integrated into existing workflow and systems. For brokers, Advisen provides a platform to both service existing clients and prospect new ones. Advisen offers risk managers a unified resource for unbiased information and tools to help drive better risk decisions, more efficiently manage insurance programs, and provide insight into market conditions.

The new version of the Advisen platform is available immediately; additional features will be released during the fourth quarter. All existing Advisen clients are automatically upgraded to the new version, with no additional fees or maintenance charges.

The company has expanded its sales organization with the hiring of several senior sales executives from various major information services companies and insurance technology firms. The company has now created a dedicated customer service organization to work directly with client organizations via training, post-sale service and continued product education. Advisen further plans to introduce a series of new marketing efforts to expand its brand and market position.
