Jefferey S. Lejfer is opening the doors of New Day Underwriting Managers LLC, a new environmental insurance wholesale firm. The company, based in Bordentown, N.J., will assist brokers and their clients find appropriate environmental insurance coverages from major insurance markets.
“Businesses are continually concerned with their potential environmental risks and finding ways to manage them. New Day Underwriting aims to be more than an environmental risk management resource for agents and brokers, but rather a strategic partner and strategist, helping them seek the most suitable risk management approach from the most suitable market,” the founder said.
Lejfer is a 30-year veteran of the industry. Lejfer’s environmental insurance underwriting experience was honed during the more than a dozen years he spent with XL Environmental, formerly called ECS, Inc., one of the pioneering environmental insurance providers.
Most recently, Lejfer served as president of XL Programs, a U.S. division of Bermuda-based XL Capital, where he managed overall operations and underwriting relationships for XL’s specialized program business.
