OneBeacon Insurance Group has enhanced its professional liability coverages for information technology businesses. The company’s @vantage for Information Technology product now combines technology errors and omissions liability with coverage options for data privacy liability and communications liability.
OneBeacon says its Technology Errors and Omissions Liability form continues to provide some of the broadest coverage terms available today. The new coverage options provide additional protection for professional liability exposures associated with the operations of these evolving companies. The new Data Privacy Liability option extends coverage for a company’s failure to protect the private data of others, while the new Communications Liability option provides coverage for copyright and trademark infringement.
“A unique feature of our Data Privacy coverage is that it delivers protection for data in both tangible and intangible form,” said Matt Mueller, national technology manager for OneBeacon Commercial Middle Market. “Regardless of whether the data is in written or electronic form, it’s covered.”
Communications Liability extends coverage to claims arising from the infringement of copyright, trade dress, and right of publicity. Said Mueller, “This form provides some unique coverage extensions that include costs and expenses associated with injunctive relief and loss of royalties.”
Offered in partnership with select independent agents, OneBeacon @vantage is available for the following industries in addition to information technology: financial services, professional services, media, metalworking, real estate, cultural institutions, food, plastics, printing, progressive care, retailing, and wholesaling and distributing.
