Specialty insurer The Navigators Group, Inc. reported that its Navigators Management Co. has launched a new umbrella business unit to be known as NAV PAC Umbrella and Excess.
NAV PAC focuses on commercial accounts produced by retail insurance agents.
Claudia Jonas has joined Navigators as vice president of this new business unit and will be based in the company’s Irvine, California office.
James Caragher, president of the NAV PAC division, called the umbrella business a “natural extension” of its product suite that will enhance its middle market property and casualty lines.
According to Jonas, retail agents are in need of specialized monoline umbrella writers for their accounts. “Navigators can respond to that need,” she said.
The Navigators Group, Inc. has underwriting management companies, and operations at Lloyd’s of London. It is headquartered in New York City.
