Obama said he recognized there was no return to the days of President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill deciding the world’s fate while “sitting in a room with a brandy.”

    No not anymore…
Now he gets to pick the most anti- American anti-Constitution folks like Janet Napalitano to protect us against the terrorists of the world.
Janet is a specialist at removing all road blocks, at all borders. Arresting illegal criminalians would be Anti-Family…That is a good one…
Also I agree would should never use the word terrorist any more….lets use the phrase “man made disasters”, that is what she calls the events like 9-11…
He is doing a great job!
Maybe he should start drinking brandy!

1.) Begging the Chinese to keep buying our US Treasury notes.
2.) Begging the Iranians & North Koreans to not be bad.
3.) Throwing Trillions at entitlement programs.
4.) Showing the youth of America that to be a leader you must first learn how to beg.
5.) Destroying what is left of our Capitalist system…Nice one big boy!

I hate to see the day when we are bombed by some country and he asks the UN what he should do…

Come on January 2012…please help us out…get here quickly!

It is 2009 and based on the comments posted, some of you are still in the dark ages. It continues to be a sad day in America when Americans who have been blessed with so much still cannot free themselves from being narrow minded and selfish. Grow up! Start thinking rationally. We have been dummied down so-to-speak for the last eight years and after the mess we are in, some of you still just doesn’t get it.

I don’t expect everyone to love our duly elected President, but is it not a shame when the rest of the world can respect this man and some of us in this country can only spew hatred from our lips?

He has represented this country very well at the G20 and as long as he does not read any of this mess that is written about him and stay focused, all of you will have to eat your own words when this country recovers under his leadership.

HE IS NOT A SOCIALIST. HE IS JUST FAIR.

That is a term I can get used to and hope to see a lot of. None of the previous posts have pointed out one specific fact about anything Obama has done that has lessened the condition of this country as it is today. It’s all paranoia. Maybe you have short memories but we can all point to a number of things the last guy and the prior majority is responsible for: Wasting an unprecedented surplus, puting in a tax cut for a lucky few Americans which had no positive affect on the economy, wasting the international good-will and empathy most of the civilized world held towards us after 9/11, outing a CIA agent, just to name a few. There is so much of “the big bad Obama is going to change life as we know it, or make us all where Mao suits” with nothing to back it up. At least we have someone who listens, who reads, and who can at least rub two sticks together. We now have a better chance to rely on other civilized nations to help us combat terrorism now that we have someone with a brain in his head. Wouldn’t it be nice not to be the lone country to clean up what should have been done in Afganastan over the last 8 years? Bushes handy work will make it difficult to bring in other nations to help us out. Building concensus with other nations (whether we like them or not) will help us.

There’s that word. Life isn’t “fair.” People are unequal. Some have more ability and ambition than others and have more success. Our new goal is to remove any incentive to succeed. You make it, they will take it. No inheritance because it’s not “fair.” No rich people because that’s not “fair.” Everyone equally miserable. Sounds like the Soviet Union under Stalin. It’s going to be a scary four years.

Dear Nobody important: What specifically has happened to you, your situation, or someone you know to minimize what you have? The one thing I can point to is the new tax credit under the stimulus bill that will take affect this year:

In 2009 and 2010, there is a tax credit of up to $400 for individuals and $800 for married couples filing their taxes jointly. You calculate your credit, subtracted from other federal taxes you owe, by taking 6.2 percent of your earned income.

So, if you are feeling less ambitious, or feel your incentive to work hard is going away, that is your problem. Nobody is doing anything to you. You really go a bit overboard with your Soviet Union thing. “It’s going to be scary for the next 4 years”. Grow up you big baby. Read a friggen newspaper.

Just a topic to rant about…

Consensus building is something you talk about in a senior thesis, not the backbone of foreign policy! the USA is the single largest supporter of freedom in the world and should continue to set the tone for the world.

The part that astounds me about President Obama is his total lack of interest in leading. He wants to listen, cheerlead, give speeches and let others put agendas on the table that fit his mindset.

Whether you anti-bush folks like it or not, he did the right thing by taking an unpopular stance in the face of terrorism and we’re all safer for it.

It’s easy to be popular and keep your opinions quiet. It’s tough to make correct but unpopular decisions when you’re sitting on the world stage. Right now, I’d say “mum” is the word from Obama.

Tell me what Bush did to prevent no new attacks on our soil? Did he increase port security? No. Did he increase security at water treatment, electrical, nuclear power plants? No. The TSA at airports? Maybe he gets some credit for that but have you seen that process at work?? What Bush did was invade another country (which had 0 to do with 9/11) with no exit plan. He let Osama go when he had him on the run. He failed to measure the level of tribal hatred among the Iraqi people who live there and allowed the stupid war to engulf our under-equiped and undermanned military in a civil war. He did start the division of Homeland Security but that was an idea presented to him in 2001 by the outgoing Clinton administration. 9/11 forced him into that decision. The reason we had no attacks on our soil is that the terrorists in Iraq (who were not there before the war) had plenty to shoot at without planing something in the US…especially when the mis-managers of the war fired all Bath party members and created the insurgency. Your cowboy mentality is good in the movies but doesn’t work in reality. Ronnie would not have gotten us into the mess Bush got us in.

Consensus gets people on your side. Just ask the first George Bush about his success in the gulf war. Obama has barely been there long enough to measure his success. The people who want to rewrite history have already written him off. Bush’s stances were not only unpopular but poorly thought out. Give Obama a chance. “Mum” is not the word…”Premature” is.

While the war in Iraq may be considered a “mistake” in hindsight, it was approved OVERWHELMINGLY by Congress (even HillDog supported it, and I’d wager that you did as well). Bush was presented with evidence that showed Saddam Hussein posed a danger to the world, as well as to his own people. Had he done nothing about it, he would have been criticized for not taking a stronger stand.

Were mistakes made? Definitely. However, even you would have to concede that we are winning the war. Say what you want about Bush, but the people of Iraq are better off because of him.

More support in backing down N. Korea, Iran, the Taliban? A financially proven template to universal healthcare? More countries helping to feed the world? I’m all ears…

The “evidence” for the war was mainly based on the words of a defector who wanted Hussien gone. The Bushies cherry picked inteligence (mainly put together by under secretary of Defense David Fieth) to strenthen their flimsy case. Google General Tommy Frank’s opinion about Fieth – It’s funny. The setup was all sadly discovered in hindsight. Waht is real sad is how badly the war was mis-managed by Rumsfeld. When your President tells you it’s time to go to war, you want to believe him. But manipulating the public’s fragile psyche from 9/11 to make the case is wrong. Maybe we should not be so gullible next time.

To say that “Bush didn’t go after him after 9/11” is a bit of a misstatement; just ask all of our Special Forces on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border that have been putting their lives on the line for 8 years.

One of the main issues he took a stand on was abortion. To me that is the one issue he should have abstained from having an opinion about. In speaking about his 9 year old & 6 year old daughters at the time, Obama was quoted as saying, “I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.” What if his granfather had told his mother at the time of her pregnancy with him that he didn’t want her punished with a baby? Socialism – any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.
Capitalism – : an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market
    Both definitions courtesy of Merriam-Webster.

Don’t give me a bank bail-out to prevent more financial melt-down or an auto company bail out to keep people working and food on the table. What production decisions of a major company, or any company, is the government currently making? What wealth are they taking away from you and me and distributing to the rest of the country? Oh yeah, there is a $400 per individual/$800 tax credit per individual in the stimulus bill for people making less than $150K. Oh, how socialist! Putting up dictionary definitions proves nothing. I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound. No one is really talking about it either, because you just don’t criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well, I can’t let the numbers pass by
because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of
this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you’re
going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of
$250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million.?
If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action,
the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable

I really dont care what europe thinks of us with regards to Iraq and Afganistan. Those white flag waving countries are filed with towel heads planning attacks on England, France, Spain and Germany. I think that Tourchering a terrorist planning on attacking us is fine If hooking up one raghead terrorist prisoner’s testicles to a car battery to get the truth out of the lying little camel shagger will save just one American life, then I have only three things to say:
    1. Red is positive
    2. Black is negative
    3. Make sure his nuts are wet.”

regarding how our complacence and special attention to special interest resulted in the downfall of entire economies. Our lawmakers took campaign money and then pushed crooked economic principles down our throats and who paid? The planet.

I hope for change, in the form of government accountability. I hope for change regarding the elimination of earmarks as usual. I hope for change such that one day government actions will be transparent. I hope for change so that a candidate is not allowed to outspend his opponent by three to one, and buy the white house.

First, thank you, Prouder American for your kind response. I do consider myself simple in this respect, for me to understand any concept, I must first break it down to its most simpe terms.

David, since you are the only one to respond, (however, you did not answer my specific question) I will answer your questions.
    1) Tell me, what tools of industry does the Government currently control?
They just fired the CEO of GM and are threatening to fire bank executives.
    2) What production decisions of a major company, or any company, is the government currently making? GM and Chrysler gave a specific plan to the government for aid and were rejected.
    3) What wealth are they taking away from you and me and distributing to the rest of the country? Bush tax cuts will expire. The death tax will be reinstated. Cap and trade of carbon credits will increase any carbon based fuel i.e. coal, petroleum and natural gas. Smokes went up .80 a pack.
    4) Oh yeah, there is a $400 per individual/$800 tax credit per individual in the stimulus bill for people making less than $150K. I will bet you will hire zero people with your $400 tax credit. If the Bush tax cuts stayed in effect, I would bet at least one job would be created by a small business that would benefit from the tax cut.

Thanks for the opportunity to reply.

We’re waiting Dave. You asked Vlad some questions and he gave you legit, straight answers. Don’t go off on some ignorant rant and change the subject. I’m excited to hear your attempt at a rational rebuttal.
