How much is too much when it comes to executive salaries? Hartford’s 23 corporate executves have an average salary of $4.77 million per year. Yet, they feel they need to lay off 500 employees in order to shore up their finances?

If the 500 employees had an average salary of $75,000 per year, that would be $37,500,000 that they are saving by this move. If their executives would cut their own salaries to a paltry $1,000,000 per year, it would save the company $86,710,000.

But I guess $1,000,000 a year just isn’t enough to pay the grocery bill. Just goes to show how perverted and greedy corporate America has become where the richest few continue to leech off the backs of the working classes.

How about it is none of your business how much is too much for ANYONE to make? How about you don’t get to tell others what kind of salary they get to make? How about since you seem to hate our society and our systems so much that you move somewhere else? I am so tired of your constant liberal slant that just seems to follow the Obama talking points of the day. OPV — you are blinded by your prejudice and cannot see reason. I will say it again: you are blinded and seemingly incapable of independent thought. Let’s use another example here that maybe you will understand. How about in college, you shared your A grade you worked so hard for? How about this: No one can do better than anyone one else, therefore, they are going to make everyone the same! Everyone gets a ‘C’ no matter how hard you’ve worked for it. Sound good to you? Good God, get a clue!

How about you pull your head out of your butt and stop living off your daddys money. How about you go out and get a real job and put in a full weeks work. How about you stop refering to talking points, when that is all the GOP knows and does. How about you doing something for your self instead of relying on daddy and your silver spoon friends and associates. How about being a real human being and doiong something for someone else besides your self absorbed self.

LMAO!!! Way to tell it Ken :) Thanks for the laugh! Her comment speaks enough of what type of person she is….she could have put that in a much classier way and maybe got her point across…Just comes across a straight up (insert 5 letter word)..I wouldn’t dare say it, would be just as unclassy and low :)

That is pretty funny, Ken! If only it were true! I have been working since I was 9 years old – came from nothing. But I have worked my rear-end off my whole life and to hear the constant complaints from people who always want me to give it away to those they deem “worthy” gets me mad every time. Anyone – anyone – can be successful if they work hard enough. I am proof of that. The government and people like you who expect to live off of my hard work is pretty frustrating. Especially when I all ready give away quite a bit to various charities I know produce RESULTS, unlike our goverment. And as for the 5 letter word assertion to my character – oh my, if you only knew.

Kudos to you for making your way Elizabeth, we can all be (five letter inserts) at some point in time…I am always for a hard working woman. My bad judement for assuming he knew you…guess it’s true what they say about “ass-uming” :)

What I’d like to point out, they received part of the bank bailout. However that’s not enough and they are forced to now lay off more employees?

Hartford will eventually sell to a larger Carrier. It has been rumored Allianz is considering them as well as Travelers.

Allianz already has a US P&C arm: Fireman’s Fund. FF has failed to grow, so maybe adopting Hartford and making them share a room is could be good for everyone.

Hartford will cease to exist within 5 years. They will even sell Honest Abe’s policy (on display in lobby.

Salaries aside, and post Gov’t bailout money, in September their Chairman McGee says he “confidence in the future of this country. America has tremendous underlying strengths and resilience and there is not doubt in my mind over time the economy will grow more robustly again…” So do tell us, how does sending jobs offshore support OUR economy, OUR country or its committment to its employees??? Shame, Shame Shame

With views like that Eliazbeth I find it hard to believe you are a self made woman. Not going to brag about myself, but I do well most likely better than you and I still feel the way I do because I know people cant make it even if they “work hard”. Most work very hard and just survive. Why? Because unlike you they dont have someone or something to fall back on. They are completly on their own. So stop your self absorbed shallow self and look around young lady and show some heart.
