Selective Insurance Group Inc. has selected John Marchioni as president and chief operating officer. Gregory E. Murphy, who remains chairman and chief executive officer, previously held the president title.
Marchioni had served as executive vice president, Insurance Operations, with oversight for Selective’s property/casualty insurance operations since December 2008. He joined Selective in 1998 and has held a variety of positions, including vice president, director of government affairs, vice president and strategic business unit leader, senior vice president, director of Personal Lines, and executive vice president, chief field operations officer. Previously, he was vice president of government relations for the Commerce & Industry Association of New Jersey.
Selective Insurance Group Inc. is a holding company for 10 property and casualty insurance companies offering primary and alternative market insurance for commercial and personal risks, and flood insurance.
