CNA has appointed Julie Stephenson as senior vice president and chief underwriting officer for CNA Commercial. In this role, Stephenson will be responsible for underwriting oversight and governance for all business written within Commercial.
She will report to Kevin Leidwinger, president and chief operating officer, CNA Commercial, and will be based in Chicago.
Most recently, Stephenson served as senior vice president and global liability manager for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, where she was responsible for directing a $1.3 billion global portfolio of general liability, errors & omissions and environmental business. Prior to that role, she served in a number of management positions at Chubb, including vice president and global liability manager.
Stephenson succeeds John Beckman, who has accepted the role of senior vice president and chief transformation officer for CNA Commercial. In this new role, he will be responsible for leading large scale transformative projects and thought leadership. Beckman continue reporting to Leidwinger.
