The IPCC is about as corrupt and discredited an organization as could be possible ex. climate-gate. Al Gore is a great example of the absurdity of these flapping mouths as he jet-sets around the world warning everyone of global warming, now climate change. “According to NASA, Earth’s climate has changed throughout history.” Hilarious quote there. Thank god we spent billions so that NASA can tell us this. Meet the new fear same as the old fear and after the election the new boss same as the old boss yet the sheep continue to baaaaaa all the way to the slaughterhouse.

Ben, we have a President who says that Climate Change is the most serious national security threat that we face. We have his EPA passing or recommending terrible recommendations and rules all the time to cut emissions. They even came out and said we shouldn’t BBQ in the back yard because it would lead to Global Warming. I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to ban cooking Turkey on Thanksgiving and Christmas because it would do the same thing. We should all just do cold Tofu and be happy, right?

Corruption is putting it mildly Ben. There is absolutely no way to vette the majority of the refugees from the Middle East. They are coming from nowhere, fake passports, fake ID’s, no background info exists on them. There are sure to be many, many terrorists in the mix and our government is so stupid to think they have it under control. Just a couple of weeks ago,6 Syrians with fake Greek passports were apprehended on our southern border. Think they were coming in on vacation?

Why would a terrorist waste time with the refugee process (12-18 months) when all they have to do is get a tourist permit from say France or Belgium and come in the same day?

Why are the polar ice caps expanding again? I guess the carbon emissions are not just holding in the heat from the sun, but are actually blocking the sun from heating the earth.

Good topic though, and great to discuss with liberals who have no idea what they are talking about.

I know the answer, they both exist. Thank God this land once accepted refugees or we wouldn’t be celebrating tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Maybe you can use the long weekend to study some history. Refugees did not start this country. Explorers did. Our country mostly banned immigration for much of the time between 1930 and 1965 as well to give time for people to assimilate.

Now, terrorists mask themselves as refugees. Gee, come on in.

Our immigration laws should benefit US citizens, not make us the dumping ground for the world’s debris.

How is the following process making us the ‘dumping ground’ for refugees? If I was connected to any kind of terrorist group, I’d definitely think twice about trying to get accepted as a US refugee. I’d argue all these steps are in place solely to ensure the safety of US citizens.

        • Candidates are first interviewed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to determine their eligibility for refugee status — whether individuals have been persecuted based on political opinion, social group, race, religion or nationality.

        • The State Department then takes over the process, through contracted resettlement support centers that conduct further interviews. The State Department performs background checks using a variety of terror, law enforcement, and intelligence databases.

        • The United States Citizen and Immigration Services and the Department of Homeland Security conduct further reviews and interviews. The screening process includes vetting biometric information, such as fingerprints, for refugees between the ages of 14 and 79.

        • U.S. Customs and Border Protection conducts additional checks. Finally, the State Department and the Department of Health and Human Services determine the appropriate city where any refugee will be resettled.

In their addled minds the whole refugee process is basically: show up, be non-white, live as a millionaire off the government for the rest of your life.

wayne, the story came out today that one of those killed in the San Bernardino massacre by the Jihadist couple was a woman of Iranian descent who fled Iran when she was a 17 year old to escape Islamic persecution. She converted to Catholicism, married and had three kids. She only thought she had escaped from the wild eyed Jihadists. What a tragedy!

I can understand why there would be an article concerning Climate Change and insurance on the Insurance Journal. I can understand why there would be an article concerning Thanksgiving and insurance on the Insurance Journal. I don’t get why we there is an article about Climate Change and Thanksgiving.

However I see real possibilities for Climate Change and Christmas. The shrinking polar ice forces the polar bears up to the north pole where they surround Santa’s workshop and prevent him from making his Christmas flight. Congress is forced to set up a reinsurance program to compensate carriers, who are forced to offer a global warming endorsement for the off premises BII coverage.

A great way to connect Thanksgiving with climate change is to consider how different cooking methods for turkey use up different energies and release different levels of CO2– check out the math: http://chesterenergyandpolicy.com/2018/11/21/thanksgiving-redux-embedded-energy-carbon-emissions-of-turkey-cooking-methods/
