Two plaintiffs and a lawyer on a contingency agreement looking for a free lunch.

Hope they get the donut hole.

Accidents don’t just happen – they are caused!

Sometimes faulty parts cause accidents. Sometimes people get maimed and killed due to faulty parts put in by Government Motors.

I agree, Interested. Accidents are caused, of course. Though it is intent to cause harm or damage that is often difficult to prove. That burden of proof is a strong clause. Just ask that town in Texas that was blown up by the fert plant storing all that AN so close to, oh I don’t know…a school!

Gee, I wonder how the great State of Iowa managed to lose 48 million chickens to bird flu last year. Must be the nasty conditions they are raised in. By the way, Chipotle’s continues to go down and is now resorting to coupons to try to get people to eat there again. They do so at their own peril.

I agree, Agent, factory farms, especially those owned by DeCoster, are horribly nasty. Some people cannot avoid having their food come from them. I try to avoid them.

Accidents do happen and there may be some plaintiffs trying to get some money from GM for accidents that were not due to the ignition switch. However, the Impala that my sister drove for 3 years would simply stop running as she drove down the road. It gave no warning, no sputtering or slowing down, all power was instantly gone. That happened on Interstate 35 in the Austin area a couple of times. If you’ve ever driven that stretch of highway you understand how dangerous it is for ones car to suddenly stop running. It happened to her several times, and every GM dealer she took it to said that they couldn’t find the problem and no one else had the problem. I searched the internet then and hundreds of people had complained with the same problem. It was real!

Hi Perplexed, nice to see you back on the blog. I agree that GM is the worst offender among the car makers. Everything is run by the computer now and when the computer is haywire, the car isn’t going anywhere. It could be that the car was made on a Friday or a Monday. My wife had one of those Ford Contours several years ago. It was in the shop more than the road for many reasons. It was the proverbial lemon and there are lemon laws to protect the consumer. The repair jacket was 2 inches thick and the dealer finally gave up and gave us a different model. We have not bought Ford since. Honda’s and Toyotas since then. They will run every time.

Honda’s & Toyota’s have their fare share of problems too, Agent. Does “Takata Airbag” mean anything to you? Honestly – do you have a 2005-2014 RAV4? Toyota just recalled 3 million of them due to a fatal seatbelt issue. If you have one of those, I’d suggest you bring it into the shop ASAP.

Agent – I still read this blog some. Not sure about Toyotas any more. I bought a new Toyota Avalon, and it’s been in the shop for body work several times. The splash guards underneath the front of the car and over the wheel well are made from flimsy plastic that I was able to cut off with a kitchen knife when it partially fell off of the front end on a trip. Sounded like I had a flat. It pulled the bumper away from the quarter panel, but no worries…the bumper is made of flimsy plastic also and held by plastic clips! It’s been replaced twice now. Toyota dealer wanted $300 for the crappy plastic splash shield. I ordered it online for $69. and a body shop replaced it for me. The car is fast, gets great mileage but not that comfortable and I’ve had so many problems with plastic falling off inside the car and front end. Never again would I buy an Avalon. Miss my Ford Pickup something awful. Toyotas held their value better in past years than they do now, and I know people with 200,000+ miles on their older Toyotas, but I’ve been disappointed with this one. Still wouldn’t buy a GM car if they were half price.

Perplexed, sorry about your experience. Perhaps your car was made on a Friday or a Monday. We have had several Toyotas and a few Hondas over the years. My kids have them as well. My son in law has a 99 Forerunner that he refuses to part with and now the granddaughter is driving it and the grandson will inherit it when she goes off to college. All the manufacturers have had some recalls from time to time, but GM leads the pack by a wide margin. By the way, what ever happened to the Volt? Did they melt down what they couldn’t sell and make something else?

had you bothered to type in chevy volt into google, you would see they have a 2017 version and are still producing the car. but hey, why do any research to get facts when you can keep spewing nonsense?

Sorry confused, I haven’t seen a Volt on the road or in a showroom in a very long time. Dealers don’t want them and can’t give them away even with incentives.

just because YOU don’t see something is not proof that it is or is not happening. had you just googled chevy volt sales, you would see they are selling quite well, even though the 2016 version was only being sold in 11 states.

but hey, why do any research to get facts when you can keep spewing nonsense?

“Making a good example of just how anticipated the 2016 model year of the Chevy Volt was, it’s been revealed that roughly 86% of all Chevy Volts sold during November 2015 were of the 2016 model year. This means that year-on-year sales are up around 48.2%, as compared to November 2014 — with 1,980 Volt deliveries being reported for the month (roughly 1,700 2016 model years).

The new figures mean that sales during November were pretty close to those during October 2015 as well — which saw 2,035 units sold. Considering that the new 2016 model year is only available in a “few” states — California, Washington, Oregon, etc — this means that sales in those markets have picked up enough to make up for the shortfall elsewhere.”
