Insurance education provider The Institutes has launched an Associate in Insurance Data Analytics (AIDA) designation.
The four courses leading to the designation provide an overview of advanced analytics and its application to the risk and insurance industry.
The Institutes said it created the AIDA designation in response to the increasing impact of big data and new business technologies on the industry.
The AIDA designation promises to help students prepare for advances in risk and insurance analytic and make data-driven decisions that can impact their organization’s performance.
“As the traditional insurance company business model moves to one driven by analytics, it is increasingly important for companies to build and maintain talented analytical teams,” said Stephen Lowe, president of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and former managing director at Willis Towers Watson.
Lowe said the The Institutes is also developing a technical analytics credential in collaboration with The CAS Institute.
The Institutes offerings include the CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) designation and associate designation programs in claims, risk management, underwriting and reinsurance.
