Ethos Specialty Insurance Services, Ascot Group’s U.S. managing general underwriting platform, has appointed Rory Cline as president and chief executive officer.
Cline takes the helm from his current role as chief underwriting officer, having joined Ethos Specialty at inception in 2017. Prior to this, he served as president of Ascot Specialty U.S., a position he held since 2009. In a career that has spanned over 35 years, he has held a number of senior management positions in both primary insurance and reinsurance including being the founding CEO of MGU, DirectFac, in 2004.
Cline will report in to Jerry Tegan who has recently taken on a wider Ascot Group role as executive chairman U.S.
Ascot Group is a Bermuda-domiciled global insurance and reinsurance specialist. It is owned by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).
