Generali Global Assistance said it has acquired Trip Mate from Arthur J. Gallagher. Details were not disclosed.
Trip Mate is incorporated in Kansas and domiciled in the state of Missouri. It is licensed in all states. Its plans are underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Co., Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and Arch Insurance Co.
Th transaction enhances GGA’s position as among the leaders in the travel insurance industry in the U.S.
GGA is a division of the Europ Assistance Group (EA), a global leader in travel insurance and other assistance service. EA is part of the Generali Group, one of the world’s largest insurers.
GGA said Trip Mate will continue to trade under its current brand, but now under the umbrella of GGA companies in the U.S.
Travel protection provides benefits covering medical expenses, trip cancellation, interruption, or delay, lost or delayed baggage, and other losses while traveling.
