As an agent that writes a lot of auto insurance, let me tell you how the relationship between your carriers and tech plays out in the end. You will pay huge penalties when you don’t sign up to be monitored by your carrier. They will label it as a discount on the quotes when you do sign up. See how that works?

100%.. Although, and speaking more for commercial than personal, these are great tools and should be adopted. They work, these new technologies, especially when we start to get into the dash cams from a commercial auto perspective (even more so in transportation), all help reduce claim severity.

Being a tech user since the first PC’s, I always look at the negative side. Just as I pushed my employer to safeguard their internet access, before the banks first got hit, due to their unprotected internet systems. This sounds like a great idea, but I wonder how many cases will be decided based on incorrect data? Remember ladies and gentlemen, data can be manipulated easily by anyone with an interest in how programs work.
