Starr Insurance Companies has launched Starr Gate, a new general aviation policy for pilots who rent aircrafts.
The coverage offers “high-definition underwriting” and usage-based pricing with a tool designed to improve a pilot’s skills through access to CloudAhoy, a third-party, cloud-based pilot analytics tool that also may offer a potential discount on the premium.
According to Maurice R. Greenberg, chairman and CEO of Starr Insurance Companies, Starr is leveraging technology to enhance safety and tailor coverage to match the market’s actual needs.
CloudAhoy data will allow Starr to write coverage in high definition with customized insurance. Starr Gate customers get personalized access to CloudAhoy scoring, at no additional cost.
Starr Gate is available now directly to pilots through a convenient iPad app, accessible in the Apple App Store, as well as through insurance brokers. The product is offered in every U.S. state, except Alaska.
