Lloyd’s of London has appointed Uwe Schoberth as U.S. market development director, a new role focused on expanding its strategic relationships with retail, wholesale and reinsurance brokers in its largest market.
In collaboration with Lloyd’s business development teams in London and the U.S., Schoberth will be responsible for promoting the Future at Lloyd’s strategy to distribution partners.
Schoberth brings three decades of experience in distribution strategy and market development at leading global insurers. He joins Lloyd’s from Blackboard Insurance, a subsidiary of AIG, where he served as head of Distribution. Prior to Blackboard Insurance, he held roles including global head of Market Management at QBE and managing director and head of North America Distribution and Network at XL Insurance Group.
In his new role at Lloyd’s, Schoberth will report to Hank Watkins, regional director and president of Lloyd’s Americas and will be based in the Chicago office.
