Right after closing its Series A financing round, Boxx Insurance Inc. announced its expansion to the U.S. and its appointment of Hilario Itriago as Boxx USA president.
The digital managing general agency promises that its cyber insurance products make it easier for businesses, individuals and families to insure and defend themselves against cyber threats.
Itriago, who is based in Miami, has been an investor and advisor for U.S. insurtech companies. He joins the BOXX team after developing venture company Rokk3r’s insurtech division, which acquired the company he co-founded in 2016. Prior to this, Hilario was an executive of RSA Insurance Latin America’s Division.
Insurer partners for Boxx include Zurich, Munich Re, Hiscox, Axa, Northbridge Insurance, Federated Insurance and Lloyd’s of London.
In addition to cyber insurance for homes and businesses, Boxx offers breach response, employee training, cyber risk monitoring and other services.
Boxx works with bankers, service firms and retailers so they can offer cyber protection to their customers.
“We aim for zero paperwork and instant everything,” the agency says on its website.
Boxx is privately-held with headquarters in Toronto and offices in Miami, Singapore and London.
