Westchester, Chubb’s excess and surplus lines company, said Alex Faynberg was appointed to executive vice president and head of pet insurer Health Paws, effective March 3.

In his new role, Faynberg will have executive operating responsibility to expand the company’s market presence, strengthen its position as a leader, as well as oversee underwriting and operational priorities.
Faynberg is currently division president of Chubb Workplace Benefits (CWB). He has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, including nine years in key leadership roles at Chubb. Since being appointed division president of CWB in 2022, he led the company’s expansion in the worksite benefits market.
D’Onofrio Promoted to EVP, Global Chief Underwriting Officer of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers
Ryan Specialty, headquartered in Chicago, promoted Dawn D’Onofrio to executive vice president, global chief underwriting officer of its specialty underwriting segment, Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers. She most recently served as CEO of WKFC Underwriting Managers (WKFC)/AgRisk Underwriters (AgRisk)/Ryan National Programs.
D’Onofrio oversees underwriting governance and assurance and drives technical excellence across the RSUM platform. Her promotion launches a 90-day transition of WKFC and AgRisk to Velocity Risk Underwriters, which Ryan Specialty acquired earlier this month.
Ravi Singhvi, president of WKFC Underwriting Managers, will continue to lead WKFC and AgRisk as the attritional property specialty of the merged entity.
Smart Choice Names Morgan SVP of Insurtech

Smart Choice, headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, promoted Jef Morgan to senior vice president (SVP) of InsurTech. Morgan oversees strategic growth, operational excellence, and the expansion of carrier partnerships within the insurtech space.
Morgan joined Smart Choice in 2011 and most recently served as vice president of recruiting and previously served as chief marketing officer.
