Markets/Coverages: Ryan Launches Specialty National Programs Group

March 5, 2025

Global specialty insurance firm Ryan Specialty is launching a new practice group focusing on specialty, class specific package business on both an admitted and non-admitted basis.

The new group will be within its underwriting managers specialty, Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM). The new practice group will be named Ryan Specialty National Programs.

Ryan Specialty National Programs will offer considerable scale and scope by uniting Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers business units: Irwin Siegel Agency, SUITELIFE Underwriting Managers, and the programs from the existing national programs platform that Ryan Specialty acquired with the 2020 All Risks, Ltd. transaction. Irwin Siegel focuses on human and social service organizations; SUITELIFE on hotels, boutiques, resorts and hotel management companies; and the legacy All Risks national programs on a variety of niche industries including property, casualty and workers’ compensation.

“We feel this association under one operational and leadership platform will bring renewed focus, efficiency and the capacity to innovate in the niche specialty package program segment.” Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers Global CEO Miles Wuller said in the announcement.

Ryan Specialty National Programs will be led by Shawn Yingling as chief executive officer. Yingling joined Ryan Specialty in 2024 with more than 30 years of experience in program development and executive positions. He has served as chief retail distribution officer. Prior to joining Ryan, he worked at American International Group (AIG) as alternative channels distribution leader for North America, and prior to AIG he was with Glatfelter.

Ryan Specialty provides distribution, underwriting, product development, administration and risk management services by acting as a wholesale broker and a managing underwriter with delegated authority from insurance carriers. Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers is a specialty delegated authority underwriting business consisting of property and casualty managing general underwriters (MGUs), distinct national programs and alternative risk products.
