Marsh Appoints Glod as Global Head of Aviation and Space; Ambrose as Global Chairman; Kline to Lead US Aviation and Space Business

Marsh appointed Brian Glod as global head of aviation and space and Tony Ambrose as global chairman of aviation and space, effective Sept.1.

Based in New York, Glod will join Marsh’s global specialty executive committee and report to Andrew George, president of Marsh Specialty. Ambrose is based in London and will report to Dominic Samengo-Turner, CEO, Marsh Specialty, UK and Glod.

Glod and Ambrose will be responsible for Marsh’s aviation and space business worldwide.

Glod brings 35 years of experience to the role and joined Marsh in 1996 from Johnson & Higgins. Ambrose joined Marsh in 2020 and has 30 years of experience working in the global aviation insurance sector.

Marsh also announced the appointment of Patton Kline to succeed Glod as regional aviation and space practice leader, U.S. Kline will be based in New York City and report to Michael Pellegrini, Marsh Specialty leader for U.S. and Canada, and to Glod. He will assume overall responsibility for Marsh’s U.S. aviation and space business. Kline began his career in Marsh’s graduate program and has over 21 years of experience working in the aviation and space insurance sector.

Commercial property insurer FM, headquartered in Johnston, Rhode Island, named Tara Long as senior vice president, chief information officer (CIO). Long will oversee FM’s technology strategy.

Long joins FM from MassMutual, where she most recently served as chief technology officer and head of enterprise infrastructure services. At MassMutual, she also served as CIO, corporate and institutional solutions, as well as in divisional CIO roles. Long previously held roles at Gerber Scientific Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Long succeeds Srini Krishnamurthy, who was recently named senior vice president, FM India.

Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers Appoints Ferguson CEO of US Assure

Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM), the underwriting management division of Ryan Specialty, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, appointed Alan Ferguson as CEO of US Assure, effective Sept. 1.

Ferguson will continue to serve as president of US Assure, a role he assumed in 2019, while taking over the CEO role. He succeeds Ty Petway, who is retiring after over 30 years of leadership and service.

Ferguson joined Ryan Specialty in 1993 and previously served as chief underwriting officer, overseeing the underwriting integrity of programs administered by US Assure and the development of new products and establishing standards for their service center.
