Boxx Hires Leads for Distribution, Claims and Tech

Joe Gates

Boxx Insurance, headquartered in Miami, Florida, appointed Joe Gates, Ray Moylan and Thomas Beale to new positions.

Boxx appointed Gates head of distribution, central, where he manages access to Boxx’s all-in-one cyber insurance and protection products for businesses and homes. With over 20 years of insurance distribution, marketing and underwriting experience from At-Bay, Beazley and AIG, Gates will manage broker and partner relations in the central regions of the U.S.

Ray Moylan

Claims Manager Moylan joined the global claims and hackbusters team, where he manages Boxx’s proactive claims approach with their US SME clients. Moylan has almost a decade of cyber, commercial and property claims experience at Marsh and Travelers.

Thomas Beale

Beale joins Boxx’s technology team as head of engineering and architecture, where he supports Boxx’s global cyber and insurance platform strategy, including US API capabilities. Based in California, Beale has experience in security and cyber insurance from Converge Insurance, Guidewire Software and Corax.

XPT Specialty Hires Staver and Luceno to Personal Lines Team

Phil Staver

XPT Specialty, headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut, added Phil Staver and Zach Luceno to its personal lines division. The new hires will enhance XPT Specialty’s capabilities in serving agency partners across the Midwest and Southeastern U.S.

Staver joins XPT Specialty as a senior personal lines underwriter/broker with more than 18 years in personal lines insurance, previously serving as personal lines underwriter/broker at Risk Placement Services Inc. and

Zach Luceno

commercial lines underwriter at Nationwide. He has a deep knowledge of Midwest insurance markets – including homeowners, personal liability and specialty E&S coverage.

Luceno joins the team as a personal lines insurance broker, bringing more than six years of experience in personal lines insurance and a deep understanding of the complex insurance landscape in the Southeastern U.S. He most recently served as an assistant vice president at AmWins.
