People Moves: AXIS Appoints Su to Lead Alternative Risk, NA; Bloemers Hub’s New Chief Cross-Sell Officer; BHSI Names Wyatt Head of Marine for NA, UK

AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, headquartered in Pembroke, Bermuda, appointed Austin Su as head of alternative risk, North America.

Su will lead the development and execution of AXIS’s alternative risk and structured casualty strategy, focusing on building and scaling the company’s alternative risk transfer (ART) platform, delivering innovative solutions for complex customer needs, and advancing AXIS’s capabilities in this growing segment of the market.

Su joins AXIS with more than 25 years of experience in the global insurance industry, most recently serving as head of structured risk solutions, Americas at AXA XL. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at AIG across the United States and Asia Pacific, including leading fronting and captive management businesses and underwriting complex structured transactions.

Hub International Names Bloemers Chief Cross-Sell Officer

Chicago’s Hub International announced the appointment of Kyle Bloemers to the newly created role of national chief cross-sell officer.

Bloemers will spearhead HUB’s enterprise-wide cross-sell strategy to help middle- and upper-middle-market clients access HUB’s full suite of solutions across commercial lines, employee benefits, private client and retirement & private wealth. He will activate HUB’s regional cross-sell leaders across the firm’s 34 geographic regions in North America.

HUB said Bloemers brings more than two decades of insurance sales and leadership experience to the role, and is recognized for his ability to sell complex commercial insurance, recruit and develop high-performing sales teams and drive significant new business growth. Prior to his current role, Bloemers held senior leadership positions at HUB, including chief sales officer and chief marketing officer for the Midwest East region. Before joining HUB, he served as senior vice president at a global insurance brokerage firm.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Names Wyatt Head of Marine for North America, UK

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, based in Boston, said Ben Wyatt has been promoted to head of marine for North America and the UK, effective immediately.

Wyatt will drive underwriting, strategy, and portfolio management across these regions, enhancing alignment and further strengthening BHSI’s global marine platform. BHSI said Wyatt will partner closely with Nick Holding, head of marine UK, as Holding transitions to retirement in June.

Gregg Shannon has also been promoted to vice president, contractors equipment and inland marine. Jim Norman was named vice president, inland marine. These leadership moves, with the recent arrival of Kevin Kempf as vice president, ocean marine cargo/stock throughput, strengthen BHSI’s marine capabilities.
