The Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI), based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, announced it will present the most recent results for Texas from the 5th Edition of the annual WCRI CompScope™ multistate benchmarks study on Dec.14 in Austin.
The benchmark study, to be published in February 2005, compares the workers’ compensation system performance for Texas with that of 11 other major states (California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin).
In addition, WCRI will present preliminary findings for new medical cost and utilization benchmarks for Texas from the 5th Edition of the WCRI Anatomy benchmarks. We do not expect to send a draft of this study to review until January 2005, but will present very preliminary results in December to get the attendee’s comments.
The WCRI briefing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Dec. 14 at the Austin Marriott at the Capitol. The registration fee is $35 for WCRI members, $50 for non-members and helps defray our expenses. Public officials receive a complimentary registration.
